A story does not end when attention moves elsewhere.
The first report often captures the moment of change. The follow-up asks what happened after the announcement, the response or the celebration.
Returning to a story can reveal whether a promise became action, whether circumstances changed and whose perspective was missing the first time.
It is also a way of taking readers seriously: the story should not disappear simply because the feed has moved on.
